Behind Matatū is you: 2026 Super Rugby Aupiki tickets on sale now
Tickets for the 2026 Super Rugby Aupiki season are officially on sale!
Built on the momentum of the past four seasons and the continued growth of women’s rugby in Aotearoa and around the world, 2026 is shaping as our biggest and most exciting season yet.
There’s a new coaching voice, familiar fan favourites returning, emerging talent ready to make their mark, new venues on the calendar and matchups that'll provide entertainment for the whole family.
These games are more than rugby. They’re about creating an experience that feels welcoming, family‑friendly and deeply connected to community. A place where kids can see what’s possible, where whānau can make a day of it, and backing women’s sport.
That sense of occasion will be front and centre when Matatū opens the season in Christchurch.
On Saturday 13 June, Matatū will run out at our brand new stadium for the first time, hosting Chiefs Manawa in a season opener that carries real significance. It’s a huge moment for our team, and for the people of Christchurch.
With a big game comes a big goal, and we want you to be a part of it.
With the current attendance record for a domestic women’s rugby match sitting at around 4,800, the goal is to push past and set a new benchmark. Help us show what can happen when a community chooses to turn up together and stand behind women’s sport.
This match is about Christchurch getting in behind its team, about inspiring the next generation watching from the stands, and about being part of a moment that will be remembered well beyond this season.
Ticket pricing has been set with families front of mind this season. Adults are $20, kids are $5, under‑5s get in free and families can come together with a $40 family pass covering two adults and two kids.
Timaru will again play an important role in the season, with Matatū returning to Fraser Park for a Round 5 clash against Hurricanes Poua. It’s a chance to celebrate the strong connection between the team and South Canterbury and to acknowledge the support that region continues to show for women’s rugby.
There will be a third home game in Christchurch at Ngā Puna Wai when we take on the Blues women on Saturday 18 July.
For fans further afield, there are also opportunities to back Matatū on the road, with away fixtures in Upper Hutt, Pukekohe and Hamilton across the middle rounds of the competition.
Tickets for the 2026 Matatū season are on sale now. Secure your seat early, bring your whānau and be part of a season that’ll make history.
