Fullback Poppy Baxter joins Matatū for the 2026 season, adding composure and skill to the backline. Comfortable under the high ball and confident in open space, Baxter brings a calm presence and attacking potential from the back.
After playing for Canterbury in the 2025 Farah Palmer Cup, Baxter has shown strong game awareness and confidence with ball in hand. Her ability to read play and launch counter-attacks adds another dimension to the Matatū outside backs.
