Outside back Naomi Sopoaga returns to Matatū for the 2026 season, bringing pace and flair to the backline. A confident runner with an eye for space, Sopoaga adds attacking threat and energy in open play.

Having developed through the Otago system, Sopoaga continues to build her game at provincial level. Her ability to exploit space and contribute on attack adds valuable depth to the Matatū outside backs as she builds on her experience in the Aupiki environment.
