Amy du Plessis is another one of the more experienced wahine when it comes to professional rugby and being an integral part of the Black Ferns recent success. Born in South Africa, du Plessis moved to New Zealand at the age of seven. After dominating the school stage she then made her debut for Otago in 2018.

It wasn’t too long before international opportunities came knocking. In 2020, du Plessis was part of the Black Ferns trial before debuting later that year against the New Zealand Barbarians. Amy was also another Matatū player part of the Black Ferns incredible World Cup win in 2022.
